Respeto is a collaborative, community-driven, biweekly seminar salon on Spanish language and Hispanx culture.

Learning Spanish to promote tolerance and understanding.

In the United States today, Spanish speakers are being harassed, detained, and attacked. Learning Spanish in this environment is an act of resistance against racism, xenophobia, and authoritarianism; as well as an expression of solidarity with oppressed immigrant populations and Hispanx communities.

Learn Spanish to combat xenophobia.

Respeto promotes learning the Spanish language and exploring the cultures of Hispanx peoples in relaxed and fun bi-weekly social gatherings. All are welcome, and no prior experience with the language is necessary.

Learning Spanish to respect Hispanic peoples.

Respeto is a pilot project to develop a model that can be spread throughout the United States.
